Quickink Configuration

A quicklink is a URL to an object in AssetWise. They are useful when you want to send someone a link to an object in AssetWise; simply generate a quicklink for the object you have open and then paste the link into an email message. When the recipient clicks the link or pastes it into a web browser, the link takes them directly to that object in ALIM Web.

Quicklinks can be generated by users in ALIM Web. The administrator can also create quicklinks manually using the quicklink API that is documented later in this section.

Note: The user who tries to use a quicklink must have access to the community specified in the link.

Supported Object Types for Quicklinks

Quicklinks can be created for the following object types:

  • Change Requests
  • Documents
  • Modifications
  • Organizations
  • Persons
  • Physical Items
  • Projects
  • Reports
  • Serial Items
  • Tags
  • Virtual Item Groups
  • Work Orders
Note: Although you could technically use the quicklink API to construct a quicklink for any object, ALIM Web only accepts quicklinks for the supported object types listed above.
